I have been going through some of the old bug reports for Inkscape in Debian. You reported the following some time ago: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=517700 I wasn't able to reproduce this problem using inkscape_0.48.1-2ubuntu2. Please could you confirm whether you still have trouble converting images to greyscale with a newer version of the Debian package? Did you find that the problem was fixed by installing the suggested python packages? For convenience, I have attached the file you referenced in your original report. Thanks, Alex
