Hello Michael, With the echo statement disabled I arbitrarily launched 'aptitude' since it is curses based. I did a fair amount of random navigation through the various menus, but could not detect any anomalies. The 'clear' command works fine, as well as piping output through 'more' and 'less'. Rolf
