My apologies for not seeing your reply sooner and another apology for the late reply (the email addy I used is only when I'm in Slackware, next time I'll use my universal Gmail addy). You're quite right about the problem in May probably being a transient problem with SF.net. A recent installation of ttf-mscorefonts went just fine.
