Package: modemmanager
Version: 0.4.997-1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream fixed-upstream

Dear Debian folks,

the current version of ModemManager is not working with my UMTS device,
although it has worked before.

        Aug 26 10:17:09 eeepc modem-manager: (ttyUSB1) closing serial device...
        Aug 26 10:17:09 eeepc NetworkManager[947]: <warn> GSM modem enable
failed: (32) Failed to find a usable modem character set
        Aug 26 10:17:09 eeepc NetworkManager[947]: <info> (ttyUSB0): device
state change: 4 -> 9 (reason 28)
        […]

It is the same problem as reported in the RedHat Bugzilla as ticket
627501 [1] and it is supposed to be fixed in ModemManager 0.4.998. It
would be great if the new upstream version could be made available for
Debian Sid/unstable.

Thanks,

Paul
