I've had the same issue on my Debian testing system (except the error is in
English)
I'm currently on the below version, but this started a couple updates ago, and I
didn't really worry about it at the time, figuring it was a bug that would be
fixed shortly. I had the username/password combo cached, and one day it just
quit working (I've obviously tried re-entering them again since)

However, I'm pretty sure the problem is in egroupware-phpldapadmin, not slapd,
as slapd still works with other applications, using the same credentials.
I made sure there were no lingering egroupware sessions as you suggested.
