Unless I'm missing something, git-import-dsc always creates a debian/$version tag. There's a situation when this is not ideal: When someone creates a new source package from scratch and then uses git-import-dsc to create a git repo for it, then pushes it to Alioth. - And then further work is done on the package, before it's uploaded; at wthich point the uploader would like to tag it but stumbles over the already created and pushed and maybe cloned tag. An option to disable the creation of (debian) tags would be helpful to avoid this problem.
