Package: dhcp3-server Version: 3.0.3-2 Severity: normal Up to version 3.0.2 the absence of a "next-server" statement in my dhcpd.conf allowed PXE boot to work just fine, as "man dhcpd.conf" states:
If no next-server parameter applies to a given client, the DHCP server's IP address is used. With the latest version it seems to no longer be the case, as my PXE clients can't boot without that directive. There is clearly a discrepancy between the man page and dhcpd's new behavior. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-zenon Locale: LANG=en_CA, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-1) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US) Versions of packages dhcp3-server depends on: ii debconf 1.4.58 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.14.3 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii dhcp3-common 3.0.3-2 Common files used by all the dhcp3 ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an dhcp3-server recommends no packages. -- debconf information excluded -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
