I'm the maintainer of v4l-utils. Currently I'm building the 32bit version

libjpeg dependency and the upcoming multiarch support things get
complicated.

Therefore I'm asking to include libv4l(-dev) into ia32-libs(-dev) and
add the proper conflicts and provides lines there. If this has happened
I'll stop building these 32bit versions myself.

One of the goals of multiarch implementation is that ia32-libs is
eventually removed. I doubt that adding your lib to ia32-libs is therefore
the right way forward, or is it?

I've uploaded v4l-utils 0.8.5-1 with multiarch support. To test it the libjpeg package needs support multiarch, too. But even with a working multiarch package chain I cannot stop building the 32bit packages on amd64 because ia32-libs(-dev) depends on them.

Is there a target date when ia32-libs will be removed? If there is no such date, or the date is in the distant future, could you please add libv4l to ia32-libs?

Build-depending on ia32-libs-dev also causes troubles on Ubuntu:

Thanks,
Gregor
