You can install an older version of gnome-terminal (and
gnome-terminal-data). Go to
http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gnome-terminal/ and choose
the 2.30.2-1 version appropriate for your architecture. Don't forget the
gnome-terminal-data package. You need that as well. I did it now and it
works
