It looks like whavever happened with the axi.py module has also happened with python-debian. Try reinstalling python-debian? apt-xapian-index depends on 3 python modules besides its own: python-xapian, python-apt and python-debian If you get such missing module errors, I reckon it's the same as #629303 happening with them.
