Package: ecryptfs-utils Version: 87-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software
Hi, I apologize if this bug should have filed against xdm instead. When ecrypfs-utils is set up to automount, xdm seems to work fine, but the window managers launched by it won't allow keyboard input. Steps to reproduce: * Install ecryptfs-utils and xdm (configure it as your DM, of course) * Set up an automounted ecryptfs with ecryptfs-setup-private * Reboot After those steps, you can log in and verify that keyboard input doesn't work. If you go to a VT and remove ~/.ecryptfs/auto-mount then reboot, it's fixed. It looks like the problem is in Ubuntu too [1]. According to [2], it doesn't happen with gdm. I think it could be related to PAM, maybe. It also looks WM-agnostic [3], although I didn't try a different WM. Please let me know if there's anything else I should test.
