I'd be willing to add the patch in the debian package, since as far as I can tell it doesn't introduce any new dependencies and simply falls back to the old behavior if minissdpd is not running. But I'm not using minissdpd myself, and I'm not sure how to test for the right behavior with this patch; if I send you a .deb with the patch applied, could you test it, and/or describe how I could test it?
