Package: xpdf
Version: 3.02-15
Severity: normal

The problem is that the xpdf wrapper script encloses filenames with single
quotes even when no filename is given (i.e. empty), as in the command:

   xpdf -remote name -reload -raise

The above line is transformed by the wrapper into

xpdf.real -remote name -reload -raise ''

which is invalid.
