Does this happen with all messages or only with a special one? Can you
send me a message ID or a posting that crashes slrn?

Does slrn crash when you run it from a terminal, too?

Maybe it's a bug that shows up after change that memcpy can walk
backward; see /usr/share/doc/libc6/NEWS.Debian.gz. Does slrn crash, when
you call it this way:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc/memcpy-syslog-preload.so /usr/bin/slrn
