I can report partial success here! With package version 1.1.4-2 installed and usb_modeswitch.c from 1.1.8, I get: $ lsusb | grep Huawei Bus 001 Device 004: ID 12d1:1001 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E620 USB Modem However, with package version 1.1.7-1 installed, replacing usb_modeswitch did not help.
