Package: smartmontools Version: 5.41+svn3365-1 Severity: important # dpkg -L smartmontools | grep init.d/ /etc/init.d/smartmontools /etc/init.d/smartd
I don't think we need *two* init scripts to start smartd. I'd prefer if /etc/init.d/smartd was removed: - It is a 653 line shell script and completely bloated with compat code for other distros. - It doesn't use the lsb logging functions to integrate more nicely with exiting scripts. - It is generally recommended to name the init script after the package name.
