Package: libgstreamer0.10-0 Version: 0.10.34-1 Severity: normal I am reporting this against the gstreamer library, because I am guessing that library is responsible for exposing stream metadata to the media player. I may have misjudged; if so, please reassign to whichever package is responsible for this behaviour.
When using gstreamer in Totem to play an Ogg video file, Totem reports the duration incorrectly. For example, when I download the Ogg video file <URL:http://www.archive.org/download/SeanKellyRecoveryfromAddiction/Recovery_from_Addiction.ogv> and play it in Totem, the slider behaves as though the track duration is 2:42 (two minutes 42 seconds), but the video plays for over nine minutes. Instead, for a file which can be interrogated for its exact duration, the library should only report the correct duration to the player. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (900, 'stable') Architecture: powerpc (ppc64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-2-powerpc64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_AU.utf8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgstreamer0.10-0 depends on: ii libc6 2.13-4 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-3 GNOME XML library libgstreamer0.10-0 recommends no packages.
