I'm sorry, I'm juggling with too many balls and my comment provided with the close command was messed up. Please read the comments of the bug you submitted. I mentioned there that lcdproc package comes with /etc/init.d/LCDd with launches LCDd deamon. Is this the file you are looking for ?
