Package: updatemanager
Severity: important

-- System Information:
Debian Release: 6.0.1
  APT prefers stable-updates
  APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500,
'stable')
Architecture: amd64 (x86_64)

Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores)
Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash

The update manager is hi-lited and says "there are 30 updates available". When
I click on
the icon, the window comes up and I enter the root password. then the window
comes up
that usually shows the items for updates, but it is empty and seems to be
stalled.
I have waited up to 10 minutes, but there is no change. I have to close the
window
manually. This has happened for the entire day of 6/15/11 (USA, NJ)
