I wouln't disagree, but can it be made more discoverable (other than

I actually prefer the current behavior. Also, your preferred behavior is
more expensive, regarding machine resources (and would therefore be
slower, though that depends on the depth of your collection). So I think
it's a good idea that it isn't default.
