Package: emacs Version: 23.3+1-1 Severity: minor
When loading a file into emacs with the find-file function (C-x C-f), emacs-frames on the console behave different from X11 frames: In console frames, the file name suggested by emacs is automatically removed when you start typing. In X11 frames, the file name suggested by emacs is always edited and never automatically removed when you start typing. The behaviour with X11 frames should be the same as the behaviour with console frames: When you start typing, the suggested filename should be automatically removed, unless you move the curser, in which case you can edit the file name. (I´m not sure if this qualifies as a bug or would have to go to the wishlist.) -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages emacs depends on: ii emacs23 23.3+1-1 The GNU Emacs editor (with GTK+ us emacs recommends no packages. emacs suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
