Package: pootle Version: 2.0.5-0.3 Severity: important I've just installed the pootle package and can't figure out how to create an admin user.
README.Debian says that /etc/pootle/users.prefs should be edited, though it doesn't say what actaully has to be written there, or how the user specifications in this file interact with user entries stored in the site database. I created a user 'sam', added the following and restarted the server, but I'm still not an admin: sam: rights.siteadmin = True In addition, README.Debian says that djagno-admin may be used, but for any subcommand that involves database access fails, even though the database is specified in localsettings.py. $ sudo -u pootle django-admin dbshell --settings pootle Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/django-admin", line 5, in <module> management.execute_from_command_line() File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/django/core/management/__init__.py", line 429, in execute_from_command_line utility.execute() File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/django/core/management/__init__.py", line 379, in execute self.fetch_command(subcommand).run_from_argv(self.argv) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/django/core/management/base.py", line 191, in run_from_argv self.execute(*args, **options.__dict__) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/django/core/management/base.py", line 220, in execute output = self.handle(*args, **options) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/django/core/management/commands/dbshell.py", line 21, in handle connection.client.runshell() File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/django/db/backends/dummy/base.py", line 15, in complain raise ImproperlyConfigured("You haven't set the database ENGINE setting yet.") django.core.exceptions.ImproperlyConfigured: You haven't set the database ENGINE setting yet. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (550, 'stable'), (540, 'stable-updates'), (520, 'testing'), (510, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-bpo.5-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pootle depends on: ii adduser 3.112+nmu2 add and remove users and groups ii libjs-jq 1.4.2-2 JavaScript library for dynamic web ii python 2.6.6-3+squeeze6 interactive high-level object-orie ii python-c 0.6.16+nmu1 register and build utility for Pyt ii python-d 1.2.3-3+squeeze1 High-level Python web development ii python-d 0.5.10~alpha0+git201005030944-2 Re-usable components for Django pr ii python-d 0.7-2 A user-registration application fo ii python-l 2.2.8-2 pythonic binding for the libxml2 a ii translat 1.7.0-0.1 Toolkit assisting in the localizat Versions of packages pootle recommends: pn cherrypy <none> (no description available) ii iso-codes 3.23-1 ISO language, territory, currency, ii python-levenshtein 0.10.1-1.1 extension for computing string sim ii python-xapian 1.2.3-3 Xapian search engine interface for ii zip 3.0-3 Archiver for .zip files pootle suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/default/pootle changed [not included] /etc/pootle/localsettings.py [Errno 13] Permission denied: u'/etc/pootle/localsettings.py' /etc/pootle/pootle.prefs [Errno 13] Permission denied: u'/etc/pootle/pootle.prefs' /etc/pootle/users.prefs [Errno 13] Permission denied: u'/etc/pootle/users.prefs' -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
