Thanks, I have not considered this effect. The primary target was Ubuntu where this bug does not apply. But essentially the gksudo should have reverted to su-ing to root if sudo was not configured for a user. I will file a wishlist bug on gksudo for that matter, but I am not quite sure how to handle this situation now. I *could* try to write a shellscript that would detect if a user has sudo access and call gksu if he doesn't, but that would be quite an ugly hack.
