Package: w3-url-e21 Version: 2001.11.08-9 Severity: important Trying to call url-hexify-string on a string containing multibyte characters causes an error (error "Hexifying multibyte character \x8e1") (for example).
I'm pretty sure this has been fixed upstream. I have a different version of url.el on another (Fedora) system (p4.0pre.46), and it seems to do the correct thing, converting the same character as used in the example above to "%8E4". -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages w3-url-e21 depends on: ii emacs21 21.4a-1 The GNU Emacs editor Versions of packages w3-url-e21 recommends: ii w3-el-e21 4.0pre.2001.10.27-17 Web browser for GNU Emacs 21 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
