No, when I downgraded to Squeeze I only downgrade some xorg-* packages (4-5 packages, I don't have the list here, but I can tell you if needed), everything else was kept to their versions in unstable. Tried that with libgl1-mesa-dri 7.10.2-2 after a suggestion of jcristau, and later with 7.10.2-3 and it did not work.
