I've now added an option -s that implements the checks, which are indeed mostly limited to the syntax check, just a small number of additional consistency checks are performed. This patch was added in r6568 to the experimental branch. Unfortunately with the move of alioth our auto-builds are broken. We are currently working with the alioth admins on a solution, but that might well take another week or so. Best, Michael
