Package: lyx Version: 2.0.0-1 Severity: minor Last night I tried enabling support for non-TeX fonts using the checkbox in the Document -> Settings... panel. However, I found that the checkbox was unselectable. Eventually I discovered that, while 'xetex' was installed, 'xelatex' was not. I installed the Debian package 'texlive-xetex', reconfigured and restarted LyX, and the checkbox became selectable. (I also had 'luatex' installed, but LyX apparently didn't see it.)
However, once I tried to create a preview of a document, the operation failed, claiming that the file 'etoolbox.sty' could not be found. After mucking around in aptitude for a while, I found the package 'etoolbox'. After installing it, the new problem went away and I was able to create documents with non-TeX fonts. All told, it took me about a half hour to get it working. Neither of the packages 'texlive-xetex' nor 'etoolbox' are listed as dependencies of LyX. Both need to be installed for non-TeX fonts to work. While they probably shouldn't be marked as "Depends," it might be a good idea to list them as "Suggests" or possibly "Recommends." Please consider updating LyX's dependencies to avoid this confusion.
