No, I didn't track this problem. I haven't had much use for texi2html in many moons now. However, the current source code looks quite different from the old source code, and the bugfix seems more like a by-product of this. I think when I submitted the bug someone (you?) told me that there would be a new upstream version soon, so the intent was to wait for the new upstream version to fix this. Sorry to be so vague.
