Package: munin-node Version: 1.4.5-3 Severity: normal Tags: patch The smart plugin uses non persistent names (/dev/sdX) to access device block. Moreover, as the plugin use the filename to retrieve the device name (removing the smart_ initial string and prepending /dev/), only device block name directly in /dev can be used. Persistent device name in /dev/disk/by-id/ (or /dev/disk/by-UUID/ or ...) cannot be used.
I patched smart_ in order to be able to use /dev/disk/by-id/* The patch is not perfect: 'suggest' does not use /dev/disk/by-id/, ... but 'it works for me' and it can be useful for other until it is properly integrated in a form or another in the official plugin. I reported the bug upstream: http://munin-monitoring.org/ticket/1102 The patch can be found in this ticket (I do not put it here again so that the last version of the patch will always be found at one place) Regards, Vincent -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages munin-node depends on: ii adduser 3.112+nmu2 add and remove users and groups ii gawk 1:3.1.7.dfsg-5 GNU awk, a pattern scanning and pr ii libnet-server-perl 0.99-2 An extensible, general perl server ii lsb-base 3.2-27 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii munin-common 1.4.5-3 network-wide graphing framework (c ii perl 5.12.3-6 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii procps 1:3.2.8-10 /proc file system utilities Versions of packages munin-node recommends: ii libnet-snmp-perl 5.2.0-4 Script SNMP connections Versions of packages munin-node suggests: ii ethtool 1:2.6.38-1 display or change Ethernet device ii hdparm 9.32-1 tune hard disk parameters for high pn libcache-cache-perl <none> (no description available) ii libcrypt-ssleay-perl 0.57-2+b2 Support for https protocol in LWP ii libdbd-mysql-perl 4.018-1+b1 Perl5 database interface to the My pn libdbd-pg-perl <none> (no description available) pn liblwp-useragent-determin <none> (no description available) pn libnet-irc-perl <none> (no description available) ii libnet-ssleay-perl 1.36-2+b1 Perl module for Secure Sockets Lay pn libtext-csv-xs-perl <none> (no description available) ii libwww-perl 6.01-3 simple and consistent interface to pn libxml-simple-perl <none> (no description available) ii lm-sensors 1:3.3.0-2 utilities to read temperature/volt ii logtail 1.3.13 Print log file lines that have not pn munin <none> (no description available) pn munin-java-plugins <none> (no description available) ii munin-plugins-extra 1.4.5-3 network-wide graphing framework (u ii mysql-client 5.1.49-3 MySQL database client (metapackage ii mysql-client-5.1 [mysql-c 5.1.49-3 MySQL database client binaries ii net-tools 1.60-23 The NET-3 networking toolkit ii python 2.6.6-14 interactive high-level object-orie ii ruby 4.8 Transitional package for ruby1.8 ii ruby1.8 [ruby] 1.8.7.334-4 Interpreter of object-oriented scr ii smartmontools 5.40+svn3296-1 control and monitor storage system -- Configuration Files: /etc/munin/munin-node.conf changed: log_level 4 log_file /var/log/munin/munin-node.log pid_file /var/run/munin/munin-node.pid background 1 setsid 1 user root group root ignore_file ~$ ignore_file DEADJOE$ ignore_file \.bak$ ignore_file %$ ignore_file \.dpkg-(tmp|new|old|dist)$ ignore_file \.rpm(save|new)$ ignore_file \.pod$ host_name aya.XXXX cidr_allow 127.0.0.0/8 cidr_allow XXXX/32 cidr_allow XXXX/32 host * port 4949 /etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/munin-node [Errno 13] Permission non accordée: u'/etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/munin-node' -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
