Package: scid
Version: 1:4.2.2.cvs20100202-2

Okay, I understand a bit better now how all this is supposed to work.
But I am still confused about the status of the external tools required
to fetch games by Xfcc (and maybe other protocols). It seems that the
internal Xfcc code in scid does more than fetch the PGN files to the
Inbox; it also retrieves information like "is it my move?" and "how much
time do I have left for this move?"

So in order to emulate all this with an external script for a server
that doesn't do native Xfcc (as my server doesn't, unfortunately), I
would have to understand how this extra information is stored and
handled, which doesn't seem to be documented. The documentation seems
to imply a reference external script is provided (Xfcc-Receive.pl), but
I could not find this file anywhere; it certainly isn't in the Debian
source tree for scid.

In desperation I'm thinking of setting up a proxy Xfcc server :-P
