  You don't have to install it, the display could be on a remote machine or
  you could be using a framebuffer display or a xtightvncserver display...

  I think that's possible with any of the above solutions. It probably could
  be easier, that's why I'm setting severity wishlist, but I see no bug here.

  I can ask upstream to see if these can be avoided when no DISPLAY is
  available, not sure if that's technically possible though.
