Soo, its finally fixed now. It worked after I reinstalled glibc and set up the
minimal xorg.conf. I did that at the same time, so i'm sorry i can't tell what
actually fixed the problem. I tried qtconfig several times and the xserver died
and locked up each time. So when the virtual Desktops went full, i got a
message that glibc tried to access memory that was already mapped. That got me
the idea to reinstall that package. But it could also have been the xorg config
file. Why is the nvidia-xconfig still delivered when the auto-detection works
so great? ;-)

Well, now I have to set up my desktop-themes again ^^. You may close this
ticket again, and hopefully it stays closed.

Have a nice day and thanks for your efforts
