Actually, i'm able to reproduce #625926 without systemd-sysv at all | -- it seems that the permissions on /dev/snd/* *are* getting set | properly as long as the session is in the foreground, but there's no | guarantee that the login session is actually foregrounded when the mixer | applet starts up. Seems like it's not a systemd bug at all, then. I'm reassigning it back to consolekit and gnome-applets and the maintainers there can work out whose bug it is. As for a permissions feed, I'm not sure something like that exists, perhaps inotify could be used for this?
