        As far as I know, Linux kernel images are moving away from using
 the same configuration file. They really should be using their own
 config files. In the meanwhile, yes, the kernel images may be installed
 on machines where kernel-package is not; and it would be really nice if
 the man page lived in a generic package.

        I'll see what can be done about that.
