so i did the update .. i already did yesterday, but it didn't effect
anything. I did some backports in the past, but that isn't fun. I like
using the bleeding edge software and doing some experiments with
bleeding edge software. So I installed the stable packages once again
and receives the same segfault error. Then i removed all the libGL.so*,
nvidia and mesa packages. Somewhere there must have been my prob. After
I reinstalled them, everything worked again. I think the Problem came
from the nvidia alternatives packages which created a /usr/lib/libGL
directory instead a symbolic link.
That's really weird. Something (and it's not the nvidia alternatives
packages) created a libGL.so.1 directory. That was diverted/moved around
by the alternatives packages. And for some reason the nvidia libGL.so.1
was not activated in the alternatives. So the linux loader tried to use
a directory as a shared library ... purging and reinstalling related
packages fixed this.

If you can reproduce how your system got into this state I'll add some
checks for directories to the alternatives packages. But until then,
I'll close this report.

By the way: you're doing a great job and my system runs for 7 years now
on debian unstable ;-) You couldn't achieve that with other OS. Great!
Thanks!

Okay, I checked Skype, vlc and Zattoo, but I didn't recognized, that after
purging and reinstalling xserver, I also purged my config. So it didn't use
nvidia. Then I called nvidia-xconfig and now, I have the same Issue :-(

The wierdest is, that skype runs until i click into its window. Actually I
don't know what the links have to be like but since I reinstalled everything,
they should be fine now. What else could be responsible for my troubles?

Here are some ls, just to check them:

ls -lR /usr/lib/nvidia/
/usr/lib/nvidia/:
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root    4096  9. Mai 20:16 diversions
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root      18  3. Mai 00:42 libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.270.41.06
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  781540 19. Apr 00:11 libGL.so.270.41.06
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root      19  3. Mai 00:42 libglx.so -> libglx.so.270.41.06
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3827376 19. Apr 00:14 libglx.so.270.41.06

/usr/lib/nvidia/diversions:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root    189 22. Mär 07:38 dummy.txt
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     10  9. Mai 20:16 libGL.so -> libGL.so.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     12  9. Mai 20:16 libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.2
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 391152  2. Mai 14:48 libGL.so.1.2
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 417448  1. Mai 12:21 libglx.so

ls -lR /etc/alternatives/libGL.so*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 35  9. Mai 20:17 /etc/alternatives/libGL.so ->
/usr/lib/nvidia/diversions/libGL.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26  9. Mai 20:17 /etc/alternatives/libGL.so.1 ->
/usr/lib/nvidia/libGL.so.1

Could this be a qt related problem, since it only occurs with qt apps?

Thanks for advice
