Package: dovecot-imapd Version: 1:2.0.12-1 Severity: important After installing the latest version of dovecot and going through the usual pain to upgrade the config files, I'm now seeing: May 9 12:54:03 wombat dovecot: imap(username): Error: setegid(privileged) failed: Operation not permitted when I try to move a mail from INBOX (mbox format in /var/mail) to a different mailbox. And the mail item is not moved.
This is the contents of /etc/dovecot/local.conf Apart from that the configuration is now exactly as installed by the Debian package. first_valid_uid = 100 mail_location = mbox:~/MAIL/:INBOX=/var/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/indices/%u mail_full_filesystem_access = yes mail_privileged_group=mail $ ls -ld /var/mail drwxrwsr-x 2 root mail 4096 May 9 13:06 /var/mail $ ls -l /var/mail total 254012 -rw-rw---- 1 username mail 229477565 May 9 12:57 username -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (300, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-rc6+ (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages dovecot-imapd depends on: ii dovecot-common 1:2.0.12-1 secure mail server that supports m ii libc6 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.0d-2 SSL shared libraries ii ucf 3.0025+nmu2 Update Configuration File: preserv dovecot-imapd recommends no packages. dovecot-imapd suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
