Yes. Using the scrollwheel/mousewheel over the mixer icon stopped working after upgrade. I had to left-click and open the dialogue box to change the volume. Fiddling with the properties seemed to generate the new configuration file.

I don't fully understand your issue: you had the mixer plugin added and configured in your 4.6 panel and the configuration was lost in the 4.8 upgrade, that's it?
