Package: miro Version: 3.5.1-2 Severity: normal
With the recent new miro, or new versions of Python that came down almost at the same time, I am seeing a dramatic degradation in performance efficiency. Before, on my Thinkpad x24, downloading podcasts on miro would maybe use 10-20% CPU. Now I am consistently seeing maxed out CPU, in the 80-100% range, JUST WHILE DOWNLOADING. In fact, downloading a video in miro is now consuming more CPU then playing the video after it is downloaded. This is more then a nuisance, as this machine also has over-heating problems. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages miro depends on: ii gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 1:0.10.11-4.1 FFmpeg plugin for GStreamer ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad 0.10.21-4+b1 GStreamer plugins from the "bad" s ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-base 0.10.32-2 GStreamer plugins from the "base" ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-good 0.10.28-3 GStreamer plugins from the "good" ii gstreamer0.10-x 0.10.32-2 GStreamer plugins for X11 and Pang ii libc6 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.4-3 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libsoup2.4-1 2.34.0-1 HTTP library implementation in C - ii libwebkit-1.0-2 1.2.7-2 Web content engine library for Gtk ii libx11-6 2:1.4.3-1 X11 client-side library ii miro-data 3.5.1-2 GTK+ based RSS video aggregator da ii python 2.6.6-14 interactive high-level object-orie ii python-dbus 0.83.1-1+b1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii python-gconf 2.28.1-1 Python bindings for the GConf conf ii python-glade2 2.17.0-4+b1 GTK+ bindings: Glade support ii python-gst0.10 0.10.21-2 generic media-playing framework (P ii python-gtk2 2.17.0-4+b1 Python bindings for the GTK+ widge ii python-libtorrent 0.14.10-2+b1 Python bindings for libtorrent-ras ii python-pycurl 7.19.0-4 Python bindings to libcurl ii python-pysqlite2 2.6.3-1+b1 Python interface to SQLite 3 ii python-support 1.0.13 automated rebuilding support for P ii python-webkit 1.1.8-1 WebKit/Gtk Python bindings ii python2.6 2.6.6-10 An interactive high-level object-o Versions of packages miro recommends: ii python-psyco 1.6-2 Python specializing compiler Versions of packages miro suggests: ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly 0.10.17-2 GStreamer plugins from the "ugly" ii python-notify 0.1.1-2+b2 Python bindings for libnotify ii ttf-dejavu 2.33-1 Metapackage to pull in ttf-dejavu- -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
