The API for libhsclient is in flux so its provided for static compiling only. As such, I do not want to remove the .la file just yet. I have added code to debian/rules to make *sure* that dependency_libs is empty, so hopefully this will be enough to prevent problems until libhsclient becomes a proper shared library.
