Yes, as I discovered (and sent to the bug), it's because of the use of __abort_msg, which is part of version GLIBC_PRIVATE. What I ended up doing is patching the __abort_msg use out, rebuilding libnih1, installing it (since the dep is gone), upgrading libc6 and friends, and then rebuilding the package with the __abort_msg use back in.
