preseed now handles what autoinstall used to do, and has for 1 year. Dunno if there was a transition plan beyond what has been done; fjp was driving this. I see no remaining mentions of auto-install packages or debconf settings in the installation guide, except those provided by pressed now, so it seems ok to remove. -- see shy jo
