Hi! Reported upstream as:
no access to sleep/wake D-Bus interface if root session active https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=648836 I use XML comments to deactivate the three deny rules in policy "at_console" for now, as I find it highly irritating that a dbus send called from root, whether from a full session that acpi seems to use to call my custom hibernate script or not, fails. I might reconsider pm-utils in the future but last time I tried it it was just too error prone for my system and I didn't want to spend the time to report the issues I had about it - and then probably wait long till they get fixed. For example rejecting a hibernation cause an *unrelated, currently unused* kernel was upgraded IMHO is just far off what I would expect to be reasonable. As with some other solutions - IMHO Network Manager as well - I find it overengineered and too complex to be reliable in all contexts.
