The tracker-status-icon never shows sucessful indexing as long as evolution
mail is running. The icon
disappear as soon as evolution is closed and will appear again when you start
evolution. It is not
possible to search for e-mails via the index service. strace -fp
<pid-of-tracker-status-icon> shows:
