The I'd argue that it can be read as a full sentence because it's always prepended with the program name so it's implicitly "[dpkg-foo] couldn't parse control information". I'd take the fixup for the leading "capitals" and the fixup when we have a trailing "%s.". But this can either be fixed by removing the dot and/or by quoting the parameter: ... matching pattern '%s' Otherwise the rest looks like useless churn. The leading capitals fixes should probably be unfuzzied in the translations.
