I can't reproduce this in squeeze, only on MS Windows. see upstream ticket https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/606 Patches to fix this bug are most welcome, but note that new development has moved on to the wxPython GUI, see the `g.gui` module or Config -> GRASS working environment -> change default GUI to try that out.
