Another user spotted the same issue on Ubuntu (LP: 600764) and current indications seem to point to changes in our PPD as the possible source of the issue. One user there made various tests and concluded that if he purges the old printer queue from 2.5.0 before upgrading or if he install 2.5.1 on a new CUPS install, he doesn't experience this issue. Another issue might be related to the exact lpadmin syntax used for printer creation/deletion as affecting the result.
