I have more information on this bug. 1. First I have to correct my previous update, the line: 2.6.38-1 Always crashes Should have been: 2.6.38-2 Always crashes
2. Since I last reported the bug, both kernel, xorg and gnome-settings-manager have been updated but the bug is still present and GSM crashes every time shortly after login. Here is the versions of the packages: gnome-settings-daemon_2.30.2-3_i386.deb linux-image-686-bigmem_2.6.38+33_i386.deb xserver-xorg_1%3a7.6+6_i386.deb xserver-xorg-video-intel_2%3a2.14.0-4_i386.deb 3. I found a way to prevent the crash most of the times: a. Login on gnome as usual; b. As soon as gnome starts loading press ctrl+alt+f1 to switch to a text only console; c. Wait until gnome finishes loading (Until the hard disk led stops blinking); d. Switch back to the graphic console with ctrl+alt+f8; Thank you, Paolo. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
