severity 620056 grave thanks I have the same problem. Powertop 1.97 is clearly broken and unusable at all. Also note that at the website [1] listed as "Homepage" at [2] there is no mention of powertop 1.97; and on the more up-to-date powertop website by Intel [3], the latest version is 1.13. So where do you get this 1.97? I suggest that version 1.97 is removed from Debian, and the properly functioning and advertised on the Intel's official website version 1.13 is re-added instead.
