Package: gnome-mplayer Version: 0.9.9.2-1 Severity: normal I got an nVidia card with vdpau support, which enhances video acceleration. Gnome-mplayer supports vdpau. To enable vdpau, I have to go to the preferences - Player - Adjust Output Settings - Video Output, and select vdpau, and thus HD files can be played smoothly, and the cpu usage decreases from 90 to around 15 %.
But each time I open a new HD file, the gnome-player seems to forget to enable vdpau, the file again be played very laggy, the cpu usage rose high over 90% again. Then I got to go back to preferences again, and everything is correct there, I mean the Video Output is still set to vdpau. And I just needed to press 'Close' button in the gnome-mplayer configuration, the file immediately being played smoothly again, and the cpu usage also lowered to around 15 %. So I assume this to be a bug. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=zh_TW.utf8, LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-mplayer depends on: ii dbus 1.2.24-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii gconf2 2.28.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libasound2 1.0.23-2.1 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcurl3-gnut 7.21.0-1 Multi-protocol file transfer libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib- 0.88-2.1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libgconf2-4 2.28.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libmusicbrain 3.0.2-2 library to access the MusicBrainz. ii libnotify1 [l 0.5.0-2 sends desktop notifications to a n ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-4 X11 client-side library ii libxss1 1:1.2.0-2 X11 Screen Saver extension library ii mplayer 2:1.0~rc3++svn20100804-0.2 The Ultimate Movie Player For Linu gnome-mplayer recommends no packages.
