I had the same problem here; turns out that it's because /usr/bin/lynx wasn't a symlink to /etc/alternatives/lynx, but rather an old version. Debsums unfortunately doesn't catch this sort of problem. If /usr/bin/lynx is a binary, remove it and reinstall 2.8.5-2.
